Elementary Welcomes New Year-“Let There Be Light!”

We are off and running here in the elementary. Students and teachers are getting back in the routine of school and leaning into the new year ahead. We enjoyed our all-school worship chapel for the first week of 2020 and had a countdown to the new year together, complete with fireworks on the big screen! Our BCS Elementary New Year’s resolution is—Let there be light! We brought our students and staff all the way back to the beginning, when God created the world, reading from Genesis chapter 1.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.”

Our prayer is that all of us could better reflect his Light in our school and in our world.
