Opportunities for Involvement and Support

“ And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:17

BCS counts on the loving involvement of parents, extended family members, staff, and friends to support the educational ministry and mission of the school. Our school is at its best when we join together in prayer, sharing of ideas, and participation in the tasks that provide the means for our students to thrive and mature.

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
BCS is a non-profit (501-C-3) organization. Our federal tax ID number is 68-0238987.

UNITED WAY AND MATCHING FUND OPPORTUNITIES
Many employers offer their employees a contribution opportunity to non-profit organizations through a means that has been established by the company. BCS is a non-profit (501-C-3) organization. Upon request from your employer we will gladly provide the non-profit verification necessary to establish eligibility for contributions to be designated to BCS. Your school contact for this matter is Debi Corbella, 688-0521 ext. 104.

PALS (PARENTS ACTIVELY LENDING SUPPORT)
The parent participation program was designed with the goal of encouraging parents to be supportive and involved with their student’s education. There are multiple opportunities for you to take part in this community. Your PALS coordinator will do her best to inform you of the service tasks that are available. Look for articles in the school newsletter and other postings throughout the year. You are invited to ask your student’s teacher how you may serve with the classroom needs as well. Grandparents and other adult family members are welcome to offer their services toward PALS hours.
Reminder: Two parent families are required to provide 25 hours and single parent families are required to provide 15 hours per academic year.

ANNUAL AUCTION
Each preschool and elementary class will select a theme and collect donated or purchased items for their class basket to be auctioned at the Celebration Banquet, November 3, 2007. Our auction will feature individual items and baskets allowing for a variety of bidding opportunities.

SALLY FOSTER GIFT WRAP AND DISCOUNT MAGAZINE SALE
A wide range of gift wrap, home gifts, and gourmet edibles may be selected from the Sally Foster catalog along with a huge variety of popular magazines. On line ordering can begin now at www.sallyfoster.com. Our school account number is 159778.

Catalogs will be distributed beginning October 15th. Items are expected to arrive in mid November.

TALENT SHOW FEBRUARY 9
Discover the talents of fellow students and faculty in this fun and traditionally sold out event. Polish up on those skits, dances, instruments, and songs and make ready for the stage. Try out’s will take place in January.

ARTWORK FOR EDUCATION
This program showcases student artwork on beautiful 5 x 7 greeting cards. Cards are packaged into boxed sets of 12 full-color cards of a single design and 12 plain envelopes. Parents were in awe last year as they saw the professional printing and publishing of their student’s artwork. This program does require a parent signed permission slip for those under 18 to submit artwork.

JOG-A-THON APRIL 11
The jog is Bradshaw’s largest means of annual fundraising. Students and staff participate in providing names and addresses for a prospective jog supporter. (They are not responsible to get donations or pledges – just the name and address of those who may choose to sponsor them.) Great individual prizes and class prizes are rewards for personal and class effort. Our kick off will be in mid March.
We are elated to report that the 2007 Jog-a-thon went far beyond our goal and brought in substantial gifts amounting to $130,000!
Thank you to all who worked so hard and gave with such generosity.

THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIRE, CARNIVAL, and BOOK FAIR MAY 17
Through sight, sound, and taste BCS transforms into over 20 different countries. Students spend one month studying a selected country and their customs, geography, belief system, government, and history. The culture is brought to light as parents help prepare the rooms in authentic décor and create traditional recipes of the land. The preschool provides a fun carnival for the young ones.
The Christian Book Fair is held in the gym lobby and the gymnasium accommodates the student
Science Fair displays.

FIREWORKS BOOTH
BCS hosts a fireworks booth right here on campus. A popular fireworks demonstration and barbeque is held one evening prior to the 4th.
FUN! FUN! FUN!

BCS WEB SITE
www.bradshawchristian.com
A visit to this site brings you into the latest teacher information, current events, e-mail contacts, event photos, announcements, off site game locations, forms for downloading, employment needs, and so on.
Many of our parents provide the photos that are seen on the web site. Have some digital photos of a BCS event that you would like to share? Please e-mail them to dcorbella@bradshawchristian.com with the name and date of the event.

CARTRIDGES FOR KIDS
Recycle your empty home or business printer cartridges and old cell phones by dropping them in the collection boxes in the office. Small collection boxes are available for your workplace if you are interested.

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
BCS redeems approximately $1000 yearly from the simple collection of Campbell soup labels and General Mill’s box tops for education. General Mill’s box tops are typically found on cereal, snack boxes, and yogurt packs and are valued at .10 each. These do not need to be neatly cut – just turned in. There is an envelope to place them in the office or classrooms.

We are an active school!
Involvement in everything is impossible.
Please serve where you can. Your generosity in time and gifts is vital to the success of this Christian educational ministry.
Bless you and may you enjoy taking part in this worthy mission!
