ABOUT THE BCS ANNUAL FUND
Why is the Annual Fund so important to Bradshaw Christian School?
Gifts to the Annual Fund are gifts from the heart. Funds from these gifts go directly to this year's operating budget, and BCS is able to use this money where it is most needed and most effective. Through your annual fund gift, our talented teachers can offer the best programs and resources to our children.
When internal (meaning BCS families and employees) participation rates are strong, possibilities for external funding support from foundations and corporations increase. It also inspires giving from other BCS families, as we join together to support a school whose mission we believe and whose community we cherish.
What is the goal of the BCS Annual Fund?
This year, our goal is to raise $58,000 and for 100% of our current families to participate.
Who gives to the BCS Annual Fund?
Last year, parents, faculty, and staff participated. BCS also received donations from parents of alumni, grandparents, and other friends of the school.
Doesn’t my tuition payment cover costs?
No, tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating a child. The Annual Fund helps to bridge the gap between revenue and expenses, and enables us to steadfastly maintain the best possible educational experience.
Why doesn’t Bradshaw Christian School charge what it costs?
We strive to make Bradshaw Christian School’s education accessible to as many students as possible. The School Board holds an utmost importance on enabling many families to provide this Christ-centered educational experience which is why keeping tuition affordable is a priority.
In addition, a gift to the school is tax deductible, whereas tuition is not. This gives each family the opportunity to write off a portion of their child’s education.
If I am receiving scholarship support am I still asked to give?
Everyone in the BCS community is asked to participate in the Annual Fund as a symbol of our collective commitment to BCS. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference in the lives of our children.
How much should I give?
We ask each family to consider what BCS gives to our families, and to make a gift that is accordingly meaningful. Every gift matters. When we give to BCS, we are demonstrating our commitment to the school and its mission and endorsing our outstanding faculty and staff.
When should I send my gift?
The Annual Fund runs from July 1 to June 30. Gifts made before December 31st may qualify for tax deductions in the current year.
