The MS Drama class is a one semester elective. The students learn basic acting techniques through pantomime & improvisation exercises and games. Then the real fun begins…the students have the opportunity to write, produce, and perform their own short plays. Each student must perform on stage in the play, but they are also responsible for performing the duties of another career in theatre, such as props, directing, designing and stage management. As a result, they enjoy the full theatre experience and gain transferable skills in designing, managing, coordinating, and public speaking. Middle school students can also audition for the Fall & Spring plays at the High School.
Students will be exposed to various mediums and techniques to help enhance understanding and skill of the fundamentals of art. Students will be encouraged to develop their own style of expression by applying concepts interactively with other students and observing famous artworks.
