Welcome to the BCS library.
We have a beautiful library with over 5,000 books to choose from.
In addition to books, we also have computers available for research.
LOCATION:
The library is located in the Middle School building between the office and computer lab, in Room 104.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday – Friday - during school hours – 8:15 – 3:00pm.
Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays – Open before school at 7:30 am.
Tuesdays/Thursdays – Open after school until 4:00 pm.

ELEMENTARY SCHEDULE:
Kindergarten- Visit once a week as a class for ½ hour. During that time, they have story time, go over library skills, and have free time to look at books. Kindergarteners can only borrow books when accompanied by a parent.
1st thru 3rd - Visit once a week, as a class, for ½ hour. During that time, they have story time, go over library skills, and have free time to look and check out books. They can borrow one book for one week.
4th thru 5th - Visit once a week, as a class, for ½ hour. During that time, they have story time, go over library skills, and have free time to look and check out books. They can borrow 2 books for one week.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULE:
- Teacher schedules class visits as needed.
- Students can visit and check out books on their lunch Tues.& Weds.
- Students can check out books on M/W/F. before school at 7:30am; or T/TH after school until 4:00pm.
- Students can borrow 2 books for 2 weeks.
CHECK OUT POLICY:
All students need a permission slip signed by a parent and returned to the library in order to borrow a book.
Books can be returned to the large book return bin located outside the library door in the MS gym lobby.
Elementary students have a return bucket in their classroom.
All late books need to be returned to the book return bin outside the library, in the MS gym lobby.
LATE POLICY:
There is one week grace period for a late book.
Fees start on the eighth day that a book is late.
Late fees are ten cents a day starting on the eighth day, not including weekends & holidays..
Lost or damaged books need to be paid for.
Elementary late letters are sent or emailed weekly.
MS/HS late letters are emailed monthly .
If late items or late fees are not taken care of by the end of the school year, report cards are held until outstanding items are returned or paid for.
BOOK FAIRS:
BCS library hosts two book fairs a year. One fair is in the fall and the other in the spring.
We host a Scholastic Book Fair during the week of Open House. We receive a cash profit which goes directly to our library budget.
We host a Christian Book Fair during the week of the International Food Fair. We receive a book profit which supplies our library with great Christian books.
LIBRARY NEEDS:
We are in the process of building up our MS/HS library. We welcome donations of MS/HS level biographies, non fiction and fiction books.
