Welcome Message

Greetings and a warm welcome to all of our Bradshaw Christian School Families,

It seems like it was just yesterday that a handful of us sat under the ol' willow tree and thanked God for the many blessings that would come with founding Bradshaw Christian School. The 12 acre site was just perfect. The small 1800 square foot house would do just fine for being converted into our preschool. And to think, we had a barn with chickens and horses ..this was a dream come true. In those early years it was hard getting beyond the day to day challenges, to think too far ahead ..although our plan was to develop our site into a preschool, elementary, middle and high school with 750 students.

Someone said that inch by inch would make it a cinch. And yes, that is how we have made it so far. One step at a time. One building went up, then another, and then two more, and then two more again. Finally, we completed our master plan for the 12 acres with a 35,000 square foot gymnasium/classroom/office facility. We have been so grateful to see how quickly this large building has filled, and even more grateful to see our gymnasium/auditorium being used for sports events, banquets, and special programs.

So, with a deep sense of thankfulness to God and the many He has sent to share in this ministry, it has been good to pause and rejoice in the Lord's favor and delight, as His plan continues to emerge and develop here at Bradshaw Christian School. However, God's delight and favor in our ministry doesn't mean He is fully "satisfied". There is still the need to "press on" in order to "apprehend what we have been apprehended for". Our vision for the future ..as it has slowly opened up ..now includes at least another 56 acres of land for high school expansion. At this point, our new "master plan" has been submitted to Sacramento County representatives from Water Resources, Environmental Review, Transportation, and Planning. We have been given a long list of tasks that will be shared by our school office, our architect, our civil and transportation engineers, and whoever else we can bring into the mix to meet County application requirements. The whole process will take a little over a year to complete. In the meantime, we will surely be utilizing our current facilities for the next school year, and maybe even the following. We will know more as the process continues.

The good news is that this marvelous master plan includes everything from state of the art classrooms to sports fields, tennis courts, an Olympic swimming pool, a multimedia center, gymnasium, track, and softball and hardball fields. When you are in the area, stop by the administrative office and check out the master plan drawing.

In any case, I hope all of you can appreciate that it has been the rich values of our living Christian faith that has been the foundation for all of our educational programs. The FORMATION of Christ in the hearts of our children and in the heart of our school has everything to do with the way we handle INFORMATION as it relates to education. In the truest sense, Character Formation is the basis for working with educational information and concepts. Somehow, God's formation in the soul gives us a divine and heightened perspective of life that brings success in our schooling, our work, and in our relationships.

To those who are a part of our school community, I want to thank you for entrusting your child to our care and for being a very important part of the success of your child's education. To those families who are looking more carefully at our educational ministry, I would like to extend a warm welcome, inviting you to visit our campus and hear more about our work.

Sincerely in Christ,
Carl Eastvold
